Poster must reflect the theme of Keep Christ in Christmas. This theme is central to the message being conveyed, emphasizing the importance of celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ. The design and imagery used in the poster should evoke feelings of joy, hope, and faith, illustrating how Christ's presence is integral to the holiday season. Participants are encouraged to think creatively and express their understanding of this theme in a way that resonates with viewers, inspiring them to reflect on the spiritual significance of Christmas.
Each poster should be the original work (including concept, layout, slogan and any visual images) of a single individual. This means that the entire creative process, from the initial idea to the final execution, must be the product of one person's imagination and effort. This requirement encourages participants to delve deeply into their personal interpretations of the theme, ensuring that each entry is unique and showcases the individual artist's style and perspective. Collaboration or assistance from others is not permitted, as the goal is to foster personal expression and creativity.
Poster should be approximately 11x17 inches in size. If pastels, chalk or charcoal are used, the poster must be protected to preserve the artwork and ensure its longevity. Therefore, it is essential that any poster created with these mediums is laminated or covered with clear plastic to prevent smudging and damage. This measure not only enhances the visual appeal of the artwork but also safeguards it for display purposes. Additionally, posters may be designed in vibrant colors or in classic black and white, allowing participants the freedom to choose a style that best represents their artistic vision and interpretation of the theme.
Each poster must be submitted with a Knights of Columbus “Keep Christ in Christmas” Poster Contest entry form. This form is crucial as it provides necessary information about the submission, including details about the artist and their entry. Ensuring that this form is filled out completely and accurately is essential for the processing of the entries. It allows the contest organizers to keep track of all submissions and facilitates the judging process. Participants should take care to follow all instructions regarding the entry form to avoid any issues with their submission.
The name and grade of the person entering the poster should be included on the back of the poster. This information is vital for identification purposes during the contest. It ensures that each entry can be attributed to its creator, allowing judges to recognize the effort and talent of each participant. Including the grade also helps categorize the entries, which may be judged based on different age groups, thereby ensuring a fair evaluation process.
*All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council. Posters will not be returned.
