Sancta Familia Council: Annual Scholarship Presentation Night!

On Thursday, May 21st, the Sancta Familia Council proudly honored a remarkable group of students during a special ceremony held at the Church of the Holy Family's Aquin Center. This event not only celebrated the achievements of these outstanding individuals but also highlighted the importance of academic excellence and community involvement within our parish. A total of $6,000 was awarded in total to the students!

The Master of Ceremony for the evening was Brother Dave Gordon, whose engaging presence helped to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. His ability to connect with the audience and share heartfelt anecdotes about the scholarship winners made the event even more memorable.

The scholarship recipients who were recognized for their hard work and dedication included:

  • John DiNoto

  • Rouel Montero

  • Michael Natale

  • Madison White

These students have demonstrated exceptional academic performance as well as a commitment to their community and faith, making them deserving recipients of the Sancta Familia Council scholarships. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to their peers and exemplify the values that our council seeks to promote.

Additionally, there are more scholarship winners who were not present at the ceremony but will be honored during a future event scheduled for June 18, 2026. These students include:

  • Cecila Houck

  • Celestino Stanfa

  • Jacob Littleton

The council will also be donating $500 to a Seminarian to be named later.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Brother Michael D'Ostilio for his exemplary leadership and ALL the committee members (Brothers, David Gordon, Ed Kirk, Frank McAleer, Terry McPoyle, Ken Pawlak, Gary Smith, and Bob Starantino/Trusted Advisor) for their dedication to our mission. Mike's guidance has been instrumental in the selection process of these fine Catholic students, and we appreciate the time and effort he and the committee has invested in supporting their academic journeys. The committee dedicated many hours to reviewing the submissions. We wish to thank those who took the time to apply but were not selected.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Father Jim Bartoloma for his unwavering support of our council and his commitment to serving our parishioners. His presence and encouragement play a vital role in fostering a sense of community and belonging among us all.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Council members. Their collective efforts in organizing this celebration are greatly appreciated. A significant portion of the funding for these scholarships comes from our premier annual fundraiser, the Jim Quigley Annual Golf Tournament. This much-anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the beautiful Valley Brook Golf Course located in Blackwood, NJ.

As we prepare for this exciting tournament, we are actively seeking sponsors and golfers to participate in this outing. Your support is crucial, as it directly contributes to the funding of these wonderful scholarships we provide each year. We encourage everyone to consider joining us for a day of fun, camaraderie, and philanthropy, as we work together to uplift and support the next generation of leaders in our community.

Thank You and God Bless,

Tony Degliomini
