On Thanksgiving morning at the Church of the Holy Family (Aquin Center), the community gathered to celebrate a significant milestone—the 18th anniversary of the Gloucester County Holiday Meals on Wheels program. This initiative has evolved into a fundamental pillar of community care and unity, particularly during the holiday season, when the spirit of giving and togetherness is most vital. The program was originally founded by the inspiring Kathy MeGee, whose vision was to ensure that no one in the community would go hungry, especially during the holidays. In recognition of her profound impact and unwavering commitment to serving others, the program was renamed in her honor after her passing, a decision that serves to immortalize her legacy of compassion and kindness within the community.
A sincere thank you is extended to Paul Dilks, along with the dedicated members of the Knights of Columbus Council 11498, who have played an instrumental role in preserving Kathy's vision. Their unwavering dedication to this cause ensures that her dream of providing warmth and sustenance to those in need continues to thrive year after year. Through their tireless efforts, they embody the spirit of community service that Kathy championed.
To the ALL the amazing volunteers who hail from all corners of our local community and neighborhoods, your selfless commitment to this initiative fills our community with immense pride and gratitude. Each meal delivered is not merely a provision of nourishment; it represents a gift of love, compassion, and connection from countless volunteers. Though many of these generous individuals may remain nameless, their contributions resonate deeply within the hearts of those they serve, illuminating the true essence of community spirit and solidarity during this special time of year.
God Blees you all and Happy Thanksgiving!
